Unseen

I spend both day and night
Blinded by my new sight
The dismay in my glee
Breaks my heart anew
For death gives life to me
Renewed from times of old
Through closed eyes now open
I recall the pain in the pleasure
Felt in the recognition seen
During dementia’s onslaught
That silent killer of minds
Hidden, yet also visible
That I let go unseen
