Storm Clouds Appear

Sitting here in my usual coffee shop chair

Watching the public stroll about unaware

The weather outside is very nice

But for warm days, there is always a price

Out of nowhere the storm clouds appear

Covering up the blue skies that were clear

Now as they turn dark and overcast

Just as the meteorologists forecast

The heavens start with a bit of a showering

A clear indication of what must be following

The water runs down the window pain

From the steady down pouring rain

The lightning illuminates the sky with flashes

Quickly followed by the thunder’s clashes

People in summer clothing run for shelter

Their day trip becoming somewhat wetter

Suddenly as if a tap was turned on full flow

Everyone is drenched from head to toe

After a very short and heavy outburst

It disappears as if it has quenched the dry lands thirst

While everyone stands in sodden misery

Nature has performed its life saving delivery

For every dry sun-drenched day, we adore

There will always be countless wet one’s we will deplore

So, if you don’t want to end up soaked always take care

Be more like the scouts and prepare
