Sands of Time

Time is constantly evolving
While the clock hands are revolving
We chase hour after hour
Trying to control its power
From sunrise to sunset
With a feeling of regret
As the sands of time flow
Encapsulating the perpetual woe
That we are, but an apparition
In the bigger picture of transition
Living out our meagre existence
Until there is no more resistance
And the timer has run dry
Leaving nothing more, but to cry
As life comes to a timely end
The words of the story finally penned
