A Resolutions Intention

As NEW YEAR brings forth fresh starts
Some wish for love, to bind their hearts
Some just desire, a mind-blowing time
Waiting for the midnight chime
Myself, I am thinking about a resolution
To bring to me a life solution
But what is a resolutions intention
Other than to stop one’s inattention

Yet many a proclamation of goals anew
Which are said due to no clue
Fall by the wayside, for there made in haste
Just words spluttered out as waste
Without any form of accountability
When it comes to one’s own changeability
So again, what is a NEW YEAR’S resolution?
A new life path or a mindless illusion

For an answer, look deep inside
Project your desires far and wide
The intention of your own determination
Falls squarely in the realm of liberation
How you choose your resolutions end
Is your own purpose to comprehend
Ask yourself one question today
Can it help change your ways

If you intend to forge forward and succeed
Then let your resolution be freed
Announce it very loud
Stand tall and be proud
Set your sights on a goal and soar
Make it part of your mortal souls roar!
Write down your words to be read
Instead of just being openly said

For a written intent of your words
Will not flutter off with the birds
It will hold your heart, steadfast
And you will resolutely last
Bringing forth your desired fresh start
As 2022 begins and 2021 departs
Enter it without a fear
Welcome to the NEW YEAR.
